Could you confidently diagnose and treat a patient with ME/CFS?

Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a debilitating chronic illness that you’ll encounter frequently once you begin working as a doctor. Before the pandemic 0.4% of the UK population were affected, and unfortunately that number is now rising, as some long Covid patients go on to develop ME/CFS. Yet research shows that ME/CFS is not adequately covered in UK medical schools.

Ask your school to provide comprehensive, up-to-date, evidence-based training on ME/CFS.

And if you’d like to learn on your own, see our learning resources page for e-learning courses, written guides, and webinars.

Have you received excellent instruction on ME/CFS?

We’d love to hear about it! Drop us an email and tell us about the lecturer or tutor who’s doing a fantastic job of teaching ME/CFS. We’d love to talk to them about what teaching methods they’re using and what learning resources they find helpful, and also to find out if there’s anything we can do to support them in their teaching.
